Zuckerberg suspended the push to introduce ads to the popular messaging app partly because Facebook wanted to avoid antagonizing regulators, according to people familiar with the matter. Facebook also feared angering WhatsApp users who valued the app’s emphasis on privacy and who resisted the idea of having their accounts tied to Facebook.

Facebook with in-laws goes down

DETAILS TO FOLLOW It’s not the first time happening with social media explicitly facebook. Instagram and WhatsApp as the service are down in major parts of Europe and Asia. Reports from customer feedback.  Service is down globally

It appears that WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook have all crashed this afternoon. Social media users have been complaining of issues with the three platforms on Twitter – and according to DownDetector, the independent outage monitor, the issues are affecting the whole of the UK and even parts of the US.

The tracking site saw a surge in complaints shortly before 3pm on Wednesday (July 3).

Social apps integration is not a sudden thought: Zuckerberg

Yes, its Zuckerberg not a sudden plan to make all together. He has a reason behind which make sense in-fact. You must have many friends which are not mutual on all social apps such as facebook, twitter, Instagram or WhatsApp.

So the core reason to integrate all social apps is to make it possible for un-mutual friends on this social app which will eventually allow you to text a person who may not on a same social platform like facebook but you will be able to text him on other apps and all you need is to be in his/her list.

While all three will remain stand-alone apps, at a much deeper level they will be linked so messages can travel between the different services.

Facebook told the BBC it was at the start of a “long process”.

The plan was first reported in the New York Times and is believed to be a personal project of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Once complete, the merger would mean that a Facebook user could communicate directly with someone who only has a WhatsApp account. This is currently impossible as the applications have no common core.

The work to merge the three elements has already begun reported the NYT and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 or early next year.

Shared data

Mr. Zuckerberg is reportedly pushing the integration plan to make its trinity of services more useful and increase the amount of time people spend on them.

By effectively joining all its users into one massive group Facebook could compete more effectively with Google’s messaging services and Apple’s iMessage, suggested Makena Kelly on tech news site The Verge.

“We want to build the best messaging experiences we can; and people want to message to be fast, simple, reliable and private,” said Facebook in a statement.

“We’re working on making more of our messaging products end-to-end encrypted and considering ways to make it easier to reach friends and family across networks,” it added.

The statement said there was a lot of “discussion and debate” about how the system would eventually work.

Linking the three systems marks a significant change at Facebook as before now it has let Instagram and WhatsApp operate as largely independent companies.

The NYT claimed that Mr. Zuckerberg’s championing of the plan to connect the messaging system had caused “internal strife”. It was part of the reason that the founders of both Instagram and WhatsApp left last year.

The decision comes as Facebook faces repeated investigations and criticisms over the way it has handled and safeguarded user data.

Comprehensively linking user data at a fundamental level may prompt regulators to take another look at its data handling practices.

The UK’s Information Commissioner has already conducted investigations into how much data is shared between WhatsApp and Facebook.

Stay Calm if you are not connected

What else is not working and users are in real shit

Wait !!! Are you globally connected through WhatsApp on Android or iPhone? Oh Yes if not stay CALM Please!

We have been told around the globe by various local respondents that they are unable to connect through whats App with there loved ones. Its true its been reported from the officials of WhatsApp that social chat app is down from the last 120 mins due to technical issues and tech heads are already jumped in to make it back on track.

The problems were reported across the world, according to the website Down Detector, and on various platforms including iPhone and Android.

Messages failed to send and the app would not load, according to affected users.

WhatsApp does not maintain a status website to check the availability of its platform or when those will be fixed. Though it has a public-facing Twitter feed, it has not posted since 2016 and often does not inform users of outages.

It has recently limited the number of people who can forward messages, for instance, keeping them to five in the hope it will stop the spread of misinformation
